Foster Township is outlined on the above map. We are located in the southeastern part of Luzerne County and border on the Pocono Mountains. Foster Township is approximately 44 square miles. The Township contains 6 miles of Interstate 80, 7 miles of State Route 940 and countless miles of other State and Township roads. Foster Township is home to approximately 5,500 people. The MMI Preparatory School, Citterio USA Headquarters, White Haven Center, a State Park, a state museum, several large residential developments, light industries and coal mining are all located within Foster Township.
Foster Township is 15 minutes away from Hazleton City, several shopping malls and the Pocono ski resorts. It is bordered by the following municipalities: Butler Township, Dennison Township, Freeland Borough, Hazle Township, Kidder Township (Carbon County) and Lehigh & Lausanne Townships (Carbon County).
Fire and Rescue services are provided by the Fearnots Volunteer Fire Department from a fire station located at 301 Cedar Street, Freeland.
